Tony is the Principal Lawyer at Antoniou Law with several years of experience as an insurance law litigator. Prior to opening Antoniou Law, Tony was the managing partner of a Professional Liability Group at a Toronto Insurance Defence Firm which was Lexpert ranked as a leading firm consistently recommended to defend professional liability claims.
Tony’s practice focuses on the defence of professional liability claims, including lawyers, trustees in bankruptcy, financial professionals, healthcare professionals, architects and engineers.
Tony has appeared as lead counsel at all levels of the court in Ontario and at the Federal Court of Canada, representing hundreds of professionals since being called to the Bar of Ontario, and having successfully argued some of the leading cases in professional negligence law.
While Tony has a reputation as an aggressive advocate, he is always mindful of the fundamental aspects of litigating professional liability claims, including reputational protection and achieving the most efficient and effective path to resolution.
Tony earned his B.A. from York University in 2001. He was awarded his L.L.B. from the University of Windsor in 2004. He was called to the Bar in 2005. Tony is designated Preferred Counsel by the Lawyers’ Professional Indemnity Company.

Ian joined Antoniou Law after articling at LAWPRO, the professional liability insurer for lawyers in Ontario. At LAWPRO, Ian gained significant experience in insurance law and regulation, as well as professional liability defence. He continues to serve LAWPRO as Preferred Counsel in his practice at Antoniou Law, and is proud to contribute to the legal profession in that capacity. Ian continues to grow and develop his practice in insurance defence and civil litigation generally, and has represented a variety of parties before the Ontario courts. In his practice, Ian often deals with self-represented or vexatious litigants, always maintaining a respectful, sensitive, but firm and unwavering approach to these matters. Ian’s technical background gives him a strong understanding of various industries, and an ability to quickly synthesize the facts and law relevant to any case.
Ian received his J.D. from the University of Toronto Faculty of Law in 2019, after obtaining a B.Eng. in Electrical and Biomedical Engineering summa cum laude from McMaster University in 2016. Ian was called to the bar of Ontario in 2020.

Mariam graduated with high distinction from the University of Toronto with an Honours Bachelor of Arts. She then attended the Schulich School of Law at Dalhousie University where she earned her J.D.
Mariam joined Antoniou Law after articling with the Crown Law Office Civil at the Ministry of the Attorney General. She was called to the Bar of Ontario in 2022.
Mariam's civil litigation practice focuses on defending professional liability claims. In her practice, Mariam strives to provide clients with efficient, practical, and timely advice.
